Specialist for Ophthalmology
Catalina Sandu

Catalina Sandu studied medicine at the Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași, Romania, from 2008 to 2014. She then began her specialist training in ophthalmology at the Eye Clinic of Iași University Hospital, where she also obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree.

In April 2017, she received her licence to practise medicine in Rostock and continued her specialist training in ophthalmology at Rostock University Medical Centre.

From 2017 to 2020, she completed further stages of her specialist training at the Augenpraxisklinik in Salzkotten and Paderborn, where she began performing intravitreal drug injections (IVOM), eyelid surgery and various laser procedures.

From 2020 to 2022, she continued her specialist training at the OWL Eye Clinic in Detmold, where she further deepened her experience in IVOM therapy, various laser procedures and eyelid surgery. In 2022, she successfully passed the specialist examination in ophthalmology before the Westphalia-Lippe Medical Association in Münster.

From 2022 to 2025, Catalina Sandu worked as a specialist in ophthalmology at an ophthalmology practice in Delbrück. There, she performed IVOM therapies, carried out eyelid surgery and gained experience in various laser procedures, including refractive laser treatments.

In 2025, she worked at the Hochrhein Eye Centre, where she gained further surgical experience in eyelid surgery and IVOM therapy.

Catalina Sandu has been working at CARE Vision since 2026.
