Dr. med. Ulrich Engelskirchen

Dr. med. Ulrich Engelskirchen was born in 1957 in Spich near Troisdorf. After graduating from high school, he joined the German army as a regular soldier to bridge the waiting time for a place at medical school.

In the spring of 1981, Dr. med. Ulrich Engelskirchen was able to begin his studies at the University of Dusseldorf. After graduating in May 1987 (license to practice medicine) and obtaining his doctorate, he completed his specialist training at the University Eye Clinic in Dusseldorf under Professor Rainer Sundmacher, a renowned cornea specialist.

In addition to a thorough training in the various areas of ophthalmology, he also gained extensive experience in modern surgical treatment options such as cataract surgery and laser therapy of the retina. He was appointed head of the clinic’s outpatient department for almost a year as a senior consultant.

From January 1992 to September 2015, Dr. Ulrich Engelskirchen ran a practice in Sieglar and has also been involved in the field of laser eye surgery since 1994. He has extensive experience with laser systems from various manufacturers and has been listed as a KRC trainer on the Refractive Surgery Commission’s list of trainers since 2007.
