Career

Dr. Frederik Raiskup completed his academic training at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he obtained the degree of Medicinae Universae Doctor in Human Medicine with summa cum laude honours. He earned his PhD in Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague. He began his specialist training at the Department of Ophthalmology of the Slovak Medical University in Banská Bystrica under the direction of Prof. Dr. M. Izák, where he completed his ophthalmology residency. Over the course of four years, he further developed his expertise in corneal, ocular surface, and refractive surgery during a fellowship at the Department of Ophthalmology at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel, under the direction of Prof. Dr. J. Frucht-Pery. After receiving his medical license from the Leipzig Regional Council, Dr. Raiskup initially worked as a research associate at the Department of Ophthalmology of Leipzig University Hospital under Prof. Dr. P. Wiedemann. He obtained his specialist recognition in ophthalmology from the Saxon State Medical Association in Dresden and subsequently passed the European specialist examination in Paris, earning the title of Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO). Dr. Raiskup works as a senior physician at the Department of Ophthalmology of the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden, where he heads the Corneal and Refractive Surgery Section. His main areas of expertise include the treatment of ocular surface and corneal diseases, lens surgery, and refractive surgery. Dr. Raiskup has been working at CARE Vision since 2025.
