Career
Lale Öktem completed her medical studies between 1989-1995 at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine and then specialized in ophthalmology at Haseki Hospital in Istanbul between 1996 and 2000. In 2000, she started a cornea fellowship at Rotterdam Eye Hospital, followed by positions in renowned clinics such as Kizilay Clinic, JFK Hospital and Dunyagoz Clinics in Istanbul, Amsterdam and Berlin. Between 2004 and 2008, she worked as an ophthalmologist, excimer laser surgeon and consultant in Berlin and Amsterdam.
Lale Öktem has extensive certificates for state-of-the-art procedures such as iFS Femto-LASIK, Hansaton, Moria, Schwind Keratom, Visx 4Star, SMILE, Bausch&Lomb Technolas, Kamra Intracorneal Inlay and Wavelight EX 500, Crosslinking and Keraring. She specializes in corneal diseases, laser and custom wavefront, Q Value and Topolyzer treatments. She has published several scientific studies and presented at leading congresses including NOG (Netherlands), ARVO (Miami), ESCRS (Munich, Rome, Barcelona) and ASCRS (San Diego, San Francisco). Her expertise and many years of experience in refractive surgery make her a specialist in the field.
