Career
Specialist in Ophthalmology, Raquel Socias, completed her medical studies in Spain at the University Autónoma de Barcelona. In 2005 she did an internship at the University of Heidelberg. During her specialist training in ophthalmology, she worked in the field of cataract, corneal, eyelid, Strabismus-glaucoma, vitreous and retinal surgery.
Furthermore during her internship, Ms. Socias was involved in the research department at the Interdisciplinary Uvetis Center Heidelberg in 2011 and 2012. She also worked in the department of Refractive Surgery at Clínica Baviera in Valencia (Spain).
Ms. Socias priorities lie in refractive surgery (laser technologies, implantations of intra-corneal rings), lens implants (multifocal, ICL and Toric lenses) laser therapy of the anterior and posterior segment of the eye, as well as the treatment of glaucoma. Ms. Socias acquired her license to practice as a doctor and her recognition as a specialist doctor (Diploma) in Baden-Württemberg.
Ms. Socias speaks German, English, Spanish and Catalonian.
