Yasemin Akbaba

Dr. med. Yasemin Akbaba, studied human medicine at the Ankara Faculty of Medicine in Turkey from 2005 to 2011. Then she deepened her knowledge during her further training as an assistant doctor at the Eye Clinic at Erlangen University Hospital from 2012 to 2017.

Dr. Akbaba obtained her specialist degree in ophthalmology in 2017. During her time in Erlangen, she wrote her dissertation on the “Bubble-in-the-Roll” technique using the Endoject DMEK injector, investigating the influence of the air bubble on the loss of endothelial cells, at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. In 2018, she was awarded the European title “Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology”. After working as a specialist at the Ophthalmology Clinic at Rostock University Hospital in 2019, she took over as medical director at the Medical Care Center (MVZ) in Baiersdorf until 2021. Most recently, she worked as a specialist at the Ophthalmology Clinic and the Outpatient Treatment Center at Nuremberg North Hospital from 2022 to 2024.
